Often, we believe that whenever we call on God for help, He will do it our way. But that isn’t what the verse says. It says “all things work together for good.” Not our plan. Not anyone else’s plan. God’s plan.
Every spring and summer, I spend hours each week in my garden beds— planning, planting and weeding—trying to enrich the soil and finding the best plants for my semi-shaded plot.
This is my favorite verse because of the promise God gives us. He promises that He is in control of our future and tells us that He has a good purpose for us, no matter what happens.
We should live just and godly lives in such a way that shows the rest of the world that we serve God and belong to Him. We should live this way now, today, as we wait for our Savior’s return to take us home.
John 10:17–18 is one of my favorite scriptures because it takes God’s love for us to a whole new level. In this verse, Jesus says that His Father loves Him because He laid down His life for us.
