Coronavirus Pandemic

In line with this commitment, the NAD fully supports the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s statement encouraging “responsible immunization/vaccination,” and as such has “no religious or faith-based reason not to encourage [its] adherents to responsibly participate in protective and preventive immunization programs.”

Kettering College conferred degrees and certificates upon 66 students at the spring commencement ceremony on April 29, at SouthBrook Christian Church and 146 students summer commencement ceremony on July 16, at the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Center in downtown Dayton.

The Living Room TA, a podcast hosted by several students, as well as Leah Burgess, Takoma Academy’s (TA) chaplain, served as TA’s weekly chapel experience due to the school’s continued virtual learning experience during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020–21.

COVID-19 has created new routines, challenging circumstances and creative teaching. Education in Pennsylvania has been vaulted to a new level with special technology like 360-degree cameras that interface with Zoom, online academic activities and hybrid combinations of in-person and virtual learning— all combined with teachers and students who are determined to pursue excellence.

Standing in my office, I paused to acknowledge reality: We have COVID-19 on campus, and, by all appearances, it’s spreading.
