Gigi Darko wanted to do something different for her 40th birthday—something that would give back to the community. In 2019, Darko and 10 of her family members, including her Ghanaian-born husband and two daughters, flew to Ghana to share books and school supplies with children in need.
Toward the end of last school year, students from Lake Nelson Adventist Academy focused on environmental stewardship for the academic fair, researching and creating dynamic projects focused on reducing, reusing and recycling in a variety of contexts.
Earlier this year, Lake Nelson Adventist Academy (LNAA) had the honor of holding the annual induction ceremony for the National Honor Society (NHS). Twelve students were added to the LNAA chapter— nine from LNAA, two from Waldwick Adventist School and one from Vine Haven Adventist School.

At the end of the 2020–21 school year, the North American Division (NAD) Substantial Change in Program Visiting committee granted Lake Nelson Adventist Academy (LNAA) the permission to operate a satellite education program this school year to offer grades 11–12 at the Waldwick Adventist School and grades 9–12 at the Vine Haven Adventist School.

Lake Nelson Adventist Academy is a relatively small school located in Piscataway. The sophomore class only has 15 students, including myself, but, as a result, we are a truly connected community.
