At the recent Potomac Conference pastor/teacher meeting, administrators recognized outstanding educators and pastors for the work they have done. This year they gave special appreciation to four professionals:
Shenandoah Valley Academy (SVA) math teacher and volleyball coach, Becky Patrick, is committed to girls’ sports. Patrick recognizes that girls who participate in sports are more likely to have lower rates of teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and possess more self-confidence.
After the death of her husband, Charlotte Conway, a member of Potomac Conference's Sligo church in Takoma Park, Md., co-founded HeartLifters, a ministry that embraces surviving spouses and those who have spouses with dementia.
HOSA’s mission is to empower future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration and experience.
Each registration day, Shenandoah Valley Academy (SVA) faculty and staff form a circle, join hands and pray for the students who will momentarily walk through the doors of Twomley Hall and become part of the SVA family.
When Maricris España, a staff member of Potomac Conference’s Langley Park (Md.) Conquistadores Pathfinder Club, walked on the stage during the Wednesday night meeting of the 2019 International Pathfinder Camporee, she didn’t know that she was in for a big surprise.
