Allegheny East, Chesapeake and Potomac conferences are gearing up for the Columbia Union Conference's "Prophecies of Hope" evangelism initiative starting April 11.

Gail Melkersen, one of the promoters of the Virginia Scholarships Tax Credits program, recently met with Shenandoah Valley Academy (SVA) and Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary (SVAE) students to present checks totaling $22,064. Seven SVA students received scholarships totaling $15,164: six SVAE students received $6,900.

Longtime New Market (Va.) church member Silas Still Sr. recently celebrated his 100th birthday. Silas has been a deacon and member of the Potomac Conference church since 1952, and is the oldest member to ever hold membership there.
