You’re Invited to Pray for GC Session 2015
In preparation for the 60th General Conference Session in San Antonio that will begin July 1, please join leaders from Sligo Church, Washington Adventist University and the Columbia Union Conference for a special day of prayer, study and discussion on women, ordination and unity.
Story by Celeste Ryan Blyden
Many people have questions about what will and should happen and we’ve invited leaders, historians, theologians and pastors to participate in an afternoon symposium to address questions on policy, hermeneutics, history, women in ministry, and more.
The event will take place at Sligo Church in Takoma Park as follows:
10 a.m. - Sabbath School with Dr. Jiri Moskala, dean of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary
11:15 a.m. – Worship Service with Dr. Olive Hemmings, professor of religion at Washington Adventist University
2 p.m. – Symposium facilitated by Celeste Ryan Blyden, Columbia Union vice president for strategic communication and public relations
Participants Include: Gary Patterson, Bonita Shields, Doug Morgan, Charles Tapp, Weymouth Spence and Richard Castillo
