More than 700 volunteers from the around the United States are working together to serve the residents of Beckley, W.Va., and surrounding communities at the latest Your Best Pathway to Health event.

On the heels of its largest mega clinic to date held in Los Angeles, California, Your Best Pathway to Health is launching its first east coast clinic on July 13-15, with training to be held following the clinic. The clinic is being organized in Beckley, West Virginia, a smaller city that serves as the healthcare hub for nine surrounding counties.
In her new role as vice president of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care at Adventist HealthCare, Roda hopes to use her meaningful nursing and pastoral experiences to help employees discover what healthcare and our mission means to each of them.
“Twelve years ago, in a conversation with Raj Attiken, former Ohio Conference president, I was challenged by a statement he made,” says Dean Cinquemani, pastor of the Christ Our Righteousness (COR) church in Olmstead Falls, a suburb of Cleveland. “He thought it would be interesting to see a church become a viable presence in their community; a presence that made a measurable mark that would be missed if they closed up and left. ... That inspiration has driven this [program], as I see that model in Christ every time I open the Word.”
In the tradition of bringing health and wellness to the community, Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md., provided health screenings and nutrition activities at Washington Adventist University’s Family Fun Festival held April 10 on the university’s campus, which is right next door to the hospital.
Despite the cold weather, over 500 gathered at Kettering College’s eighth annual Spring Into Health 5K run/walk and Wellness and Fun Fair on Sunday, April 10.
