The John Nevins Andrews School (JNA) in Takoma Park, Md., recently hosted its last graduation ceremony.

This year two beloved schools in Takoma Park, Md.—John Nevins Andrews (JNA) and Sligo Adventist School—will unite as Takoma Academy Preparatory School (TA Prep).

Born in Calcutta, India, Kalyani Prakasam taught school for 10 years in India before moving to the U.S., and has been teaching children at the Lehigh Valley Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School in Whitehall, Pa., for the past 42 years.

Washington Adventist University’s Music Department Chair, James Bingham, Ph.D., has announced that he is retiring at the end of this academic year. He began teaching in 1968, and has been chair of a music department in various schools for 39 years – 23 of those at Washington Adventist University (WAU).
