This verse reminds me that I am loved, and nothing I have done or any mistake I have made will keep Him from loving me and thinking about me. His thoughts about me are not just random thoughts, but beautiful, wonderful and lovely thoughts. How awesome is that?
Israel had witnessed the Lord’s powerful hand at work during their campaign to conquer the idolatrous inhabitants of the land of Canaan. Despite this—and without excuses—they weren’t fully devoted to God.
No matter where you go, there is always something trying to steal your peace. But Philippians 4:6–7 speaks to the heart of our struggle. It says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (NIV).
After shedding a few frustrated tears, I knelt down in the quiet room alone and prayed an earnest prayer to God. I remembered His promise that faith as small as a mustard seed could move a mountain.
This verse signifies that love is the element used to describe the very nature of God. That’s the reason Paul clearly says that, above all gifts of the Spirit, this one is the greatest.
