Au cours  d’une session de sa circonscription convoquée par la Columbia Union Conférence, les délégués des huit conférences ont massivement voté une recommandation du comité  exécutif de l’union d’autoriser l’ordination sans égard au sexe. En cette historique occasion, 209 personnes ont voté en faveur, 51 se sont opposés, et 9 se sont abstenus.-  Une proportion de 4 à 1.

La Columbia Union Conférence  convoque ce dimanche 29 juillet une circonscription spéciale en vue de considérer une requête des membres du comité exécutif d’approuver l’ordination au ministère sans égard au sexe.

For the past 16 years, the Potomac Conference’s Hispanic Evangelism Festival has drawn pastors and laypeople interested in learning how to better share the gospel with the world.

“Last year we baptized 42,000 Hispanics, which represents about a third of the entire baptisms done in all of the North American Division,” shares Ricardo Norton, DMin, director of the Institute of Hispanic Ministries at Andrews University (Mich.). Norton is sitting in front of a class at the Columbia Union Conference’s headquarters in Columbia, Md., which just finished covering the ins and outs of developing and implementing small group ministries. In front of him are 29 Spanish-speaking students, most pastors of churches throughout the union, who have just completed one class toward their Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry. 

There’s an active Spanish-speaking youth group in the Potomac Conference called Movimiento Joven Adventista (MJA). Just before Thanksgiving, they showered love and care upon needy families in Takoma Park, Md. 

More than 150 young people who attended the Hispanic Youth Festival were not only reminded that God has offered His grace and love to them, but texted that grace to their friends.
