Adventist HealthCare Donates a Ton of Pet Food to Humane Society

Employees of Adventist HealthCare, based in Rockville, Md., recently showed their giving spirit by donating 2,449 pounds of companion animal food to the nearby Montgomery County Humane Society.
The shelter averages 250 animals on any given day and uses approximately 840 pounds of dry dog food, 420 pounds of dry cat food and 42 cases of wet dog and cat food each week.
“Adventist HealthCare has done many projects for us over the past couple of years and we’re so grateful for their support,” states B.J. Altschul, the society’s director of Community & Educational Relations. “Previous support has included donations, of medical supplies, Kuranda beds for the kennels, hospital linens and adoption information inside their corporate headquarters.
