It’s Never Too Early to Think About High School

For many families, choosing a high school doesn’t become a priority until spring. But by then, applications are underway, classes are filling and the decision can feel rushed.

That’s why Highland View Academy (HVA) is making a change.

This year, HVA’s annual Academy Days will take place November 8–9, giving families extra time to explore their options, ask questions and make one of the most important educational decisions they’ll face, without the pressure of looming deadlines.

Academy Days is a free overnight experience designed for students who are currently in grades 7–11. Guests are matched with student hosts and stay in the dormitories, attend classes, worship with the student body, meet teachers and coaches, enjoy music and Aerials gymnastics presentations, participate in fun evening activities, and experience campus life firsthand.

While students discover what life is really like at HVA, parents enjoy comfortable lodging in cabins at the neighboring Mt. Aetna Camp and Retreat Center. Throughout the two-day event, families can tour HVA’s campus, meet the staff, learn about academics, scholarships, financial aid, and student life, and have plenty of opportunities to ask questions in a relaxed setting.

No brochure or website can fully capture what makes a Christian boarding academy special. It’s found in the conversations between students, the encouragement of teachers, the friendships formed in the dorms and the atmosphere of a campus where faith is woven into everyday life.

The earlier November date also allows prospective students to connect with future classmates who have chosen HVA for the coming school year, giving families an even clearer picture of the community they may soon join.
