Washington Adventist Hospital (WAH) and Columbia Union College (CUC), both based in Takoma Park, Md., received the Business/Education Partnership Award from the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to quality healthcare and the education of future medical professionals.
With the goal of reducing pedestrian fatalities at one of Maryland’s most dangerous intersections, representatives from several Seventh-day Adventist institutions in the Takoma Park, Md.-area participated in a pedestrian safety awareness event recently.
Yesterday some 85 members of the Columbia Union Conference Executive Committee, all eight conference executive committees, and the CUC Board of Trustees (CUCBOT) met at the Southern Asia church to dialogue about Columbia Union College, the Adventist college in the nation’s capital.
Between 250 and 300 Columbia Union College (CUC) students, faculty, and staff recently left their classes and ran from their desks to go and make a difference in their community. Service Day is an annual event sponsored by the college’s Campus Ministries and other various academic departments.
