Spring Valley Senior Named Commended Student

A Spring Valley Academy senior has been named a Commended Student

Story by Vicki Swetnam

Darren Wilkins, Spring Valley Academy (SVA) principal, announced that senior Nicolas Chaij became a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Wilkins shared, “We hope this recognition will help broaden Nicolas’ educational opportunities and encourage him as he continues in his pursuit of academic success!”

Caij is the son of Kenneth and Heidi Chaij of West Carrollton, Ohio.
