North Plainfield Church Baptizes 26 after Evangelistic Campaign
New Jersey Conference’s North Plainfield Spanish church truly understands Jesus’ mission left to His followers: “Go and preach the gospel” according to their pastor, Abdiel S. Hernandez, “their mission spirit is strong and can be seen in their recent outreach activities.”
Story by New Jersey Conference Staff
More than 300 people, including 70 visitors, recently attended the church’s evangelistic campaign, which featured Clayton Cecilio, an evangelist from Costa Rica. The Holy Sprit impressed many people to pursue a saving relationship with Jesus, resulting in 26 baptisms.
Before the recent evangelistic campaign, the church used the New Jersey Conference’s Mission Caleb and Impact 2014 evangelism campaigns to host eight small groups. Two hundred and fifty people gathered weekly in these groups to prepare to give Bible studies, worship and reach out to members of the community.
Leaders credit the success of the recent series to the power of the Holy Spirit through Scripture, music and the friendly work of the church's members and leaders of the church. They say the Holy Spirit is still working in the lives of 30 other people who want to study the Bible and get baptized soon.
