Wright’s Advice to Young Pastors
Pastor Henry Wright is the longest serving pastor in the Columbia Union's longest serving pastor. In June 2014 he will have served 50 years in the ministry. Below is his advice to young pastors.
My first commandment of preaching is “Thou shalt not be anyone but thyself in the pulpit.”
- Preach the Word. Don’t preach your doubts.
- Believe what you preach.
- God put you in the ministry primarily to save you.
- Success is the Lord’s.
- Work hard and pray—then leave the results with God.
