May 7, 2021: Thankful for the People in My Life
“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity” (Prov. 17:17, NIV).
I like this verse for many reasons. First, a friend loves, but a brother is there for the hard things. It’s not that a friend won’t be there in times of need, but your brother is going to always be there, and he will understand what you’re going through. There are things that brothers might not understand, but at least they are with you during the toughest times. Their love is stronger than a friend’s love because your brother has been with you from the very beginning.
A brother doesn’t have to be your physical brother; they can be any close family member. I was feeling down one day, and none of my friends could make me happy. A few days passed, and no one could help me, until the day I talked with my mom. She was able to fix my problem. She understood what I was going through.
Dear God, thank You for all You have done, and thank You for the people in our lives You have given to us. Please take care of everyone. Amen.
