Columbia Union President to Offer U.S. Senate Prayer

Dave Weigley, president of the Columbia Union, will be the first guest Adventist clergy to offer a prayer for the U.S. Senate in recent years.

UPDATE: Weigley will offer the prayer at around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Dave Weigley, president of the Columbia Union, will offer the opening prayer for the U.S. Senate next Tuesday, March 4.

Although Barry Black, a Seventh-day Adventist minister, has served as Senate chaplain since June 2003, Weigley will be the first Adventist guest clergy to offer the prayer in recent years.

The session is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
