Adventist Risk Management Launches Safety Sabbath 2025
Adventist Risk Management, Inc (ARM) has launched training and promotional materials in support of its annual Safety Sabbath initiative, to be held March 29, 2025.
This year’s theme focuses on Missing Child prevention and recovery protocols for your church. While our places of worship are often considered safe spaces, the state of the world today has shown us different. ARM’s Safety Sabbath program helps congregations gain the tools and education necessary to successfully conduct safety drills, beef up communication with church members and community officials, and have a strong chain of command in place. Last year’s theme focused on Active Shooter drills and protocol.
According to ARM President, James Winegardner, “awareness is the foundation of risk management. Safety Sabbath is an opportunity to raise awareness for people who might otherwise never think about the risks incurred in ministry.”
While March 29, 2025, is the target date for churches to participate, they are welcome to conduct their Safety Sabbath program on a subsequent Sabbath as needed.
The toolkit is available now on www.safetysabbath.org, and includes a short training webinar, registration form, checklists, and a slew of promotional communication pieces churches can use for their congregants and community members.
