Bikers Visit Vacation Bible School
By Taashi Rowe
Tom Hughes, pastor of the Zanesville and Newark churches in Ohio, recently visited a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for about 80 low-income kids at the Bellows Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Columbus. Hughes was accompanied by his grandson, Carter.
Hughes, and fellow members of the interdenominational Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA), were there to present a devotional for the VBS. In addition to teaching them about Jesus, he said, “We let each child or staff worker pick out the motorcycle they liked, and we took their picture on it, then we printed the picture and gave it to them.”
Hughes is also the associate chaplain for CMA’s Spirit of the Son Chapter in Pataskala, Ohio. This is Hughes third time participating in the VBS.
