Jeff Kern To Lead Chesapeake Conference Communication

Story by Evan Knott

Jeff Kern recently began his duties as Communication director for the Chesapeake Conference. Kern takes over the role previously held by Evan Knott, who accepted a call to Georgia-Cumberland Conference.

Kern most recently served as pastor of the Living Word church in Glen Burnie, Md. He came to the Chesapeake Conference two years ago after serving in the Northern New England Conference. He brings decades of cross-cultural experience to the role, having previously served as a pastor, missionary and ADRA director in countries including Peru, Brazil, Rwanda and Sudan.

“We’re pleased to welcome Pastor Jeff Kern as our new Communication director,” says Andre Hastick, conference president. “His international experience with ADRA, trilingual abilities and mission-driven communications background will serve Chesapeake well. We look forward to his leadership as we continue telling the story of what God is doing in our Chesapeake churches, schools and communities.”

Kern says he hopes to guide the conference’s communication efforts as a tool for evangelism. “As Communication director, I aim for our conference to go beyond sharing corporate news and information,” he says. “We will serve as a catalyst for the gospel, a megaphone for our distinctive message and an active support to all who want to be part of this proclamation.”
