Attend Chesapeake Conference's Camp Meeting, June 16–20

Story by Evan Knott

Chesapeake Conference’s 2026 Camp Meeting will be held June 16–20 at Highland View Academy in Hagerstown, Md. This year’s theme, “Jesus Is Coming! Tell the World!” reflects a conference-wide emphasis on evange-lism and outreach.

Jim Howard, president of Adventist World Radio (AWR), will serve as the featured speaker for the evening program. Howard was elected to his role in August 2025, having previously served as director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries at the General Conference since 2018. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Howard worked as an accountant before answering a call to pastoral ministry. Beginning as a bi-vocational pastor in Ohio, he then entered full-time ministry in the Michigan Conference.

In addition to the evening program, camp meeting will feature a lineup of seminars designed to equip attendees to grow and share their faith.

D.W. West, an evangelist for AWR, will present “Tell Somebody About Jesus,” a soul-winning seminar aimed at practical outreach. Bill Payne, director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries for the North American Division, will present “Sabbath School Reimagined,” offering tips on how to revitalize Sabbath School and make it more evangelistic.

John Rengifo, Ministerial director for the Chesapeake Conference, and Shelvan Arunan, associate Ministerial director, will present “Christ’s Method for Authentic Ministry,” exploring the practical steps Jesus used to draw people close to Him. Shawn Paris, director of Summer Camps, Missions, and Adventist Community Services for the Chesapeake Conference, will present “Parenting with Purpose: Raising Kids Who Thrive in What Matters Most.” For those focused on health, registered dietician and massage therapist Kristina Elliott and respiratory therapist Jennah Hollen will co-present “Two Crazy Health Ladies Sharing Crazy Health Stuff.”

Camp Meeting will also include all-day programming for children, youth and young adults, as well as activities for the whole family.
