Share Christ's Love This Holiday Season
Story by Tamyra Horst
The holiday season opens countless doors to serve women in your church and community—some who need encouragement, others who just need to feel seen and loved. Here are a few ways your Women’s Ministries team can make a lasting difference this Christmas:
Host a “Gift of Grace” Night
Invite women to bring small items—cozy socks, hand lotion, devotionals or candles—and create gift bags for women in need: shelters, nursing homes or local hospitals. Include handwritten notes of hope and Scripture verses. End with hot cocoa, carols and a short devotional on God’s greatest gift—Jesus.
Send “Love Notes from Jesus”
Prepare beautiful Christmas cards with encouraging messages or verses. Have your group sign them and deliver them to widows, those who can't leave their homes or neighbors who might be lonely this season. You can even include your church contact info and invite them to your holiday services.
Create a “Women’s Night of Peace”
December can be overwhelming. Offer an evening of calm—soft music, candlelight, journaling, prayer stations and reflection. Focus the theme on finding peace in His presence. Many women long for a quiet space to breathe, pray and be reminded that God is near. Give small gift bags with pampering items and Scripture promises about peace. And don't forget some yummy snacks!
Organize a “Bake and Bless” Outreach
Gather a few bakers, create simple holiday treats and package them beautifully with a note that says, “You are loved this Christmas!” Deliver them to teachers, nurses, postal workers or single moms—anyone who could use a little encouragement in your community.
“Warm Hands, Warm Hearts” Drive
Collect scarves, gloves, hats, socks or blankets to donate to local shelters. Consider hosting a “wrapping party” where women can pray over each item before it’s donated—asking God to warm not only hands but hearts.
Remind your women that serving doesn’t have to mean doing more. Sometimes the best ministry gift is presence, not performance. Send your leaders a personal thank-you note or small gift this season. Their faithfulness makes an eternal difference.
Whether you plan a large outreach or a simple gesture, remember—every act of love points others to the greatest Gift of all.
Let’s make this season a celebration of grace, kindness and connection.
