Messiah’s Mansion To Come to Millersburg

Story by Francis Tuffour

Why tell someone about God’s love when you can show them? This summer, Ohio Conference's Millersburg church is planning a unique approach to evangelism. They are hosting Messiah’s Mansion, a life-size traveling replica of the biblical sanctuary.

This approach to evangelism is one they are throwing all their energies behind. Eva Durbin, Millersburg’s outreach coordinator, explains, “The mission of this project is to introduce people to the sanctuary message. People will come to see the sanctuary who would not come to an evangelistic meeting. We are widely advertising this and have an ambitious goal of 2,000 visitors. Being located in [Ohio] Amish Country, we are in the center of one of Ohio’s major tourist destinations. So, not only will we be attracting locals to come see the sanctuary, but we will very likely have visitors from farther away. We are praying for the Holy Spirit to prepare people’s hearts to be receptive to the sanctuary message and gain a desire for a personal relationship with God as a result of visiting Messiah’s Mansion.”

After Messiah’s Mansion leaves to its next destination, the work won’t be over for Millersburg. The church will hold in-depth Bible studies of the sanctuary the following six weeks, held in three locations throughout Holmes County. During this time, a Bible worker will follow up on Bible study requests generated by visitors to Messiah’s Mansion.

Millersburg is a small, rural church and has moved forward in faith, trusting that the Lord will provide their needs. Durbin shares, “We praise God for answered prayers. We need help setting the sanctuary up and need a cook to prepare food for the volunteers; church members from the West Salem Mission have volunteered to help us with those needs! Answers to prayers like [these] affirm for us that God is leading this project.”
