Statement From the Columbia Union Conference
Update on Allegations at Kettering Health

Earlier this year, we shared with our members that the Columbia Union Conference was aware of allegations of improper fiscal conduct at Kettering Health, a nonprofit health care organization sponsored by the Columbia Union. As we communicated at that time, the Kettering Health Membership board had retained outside, independent resources to thoroughly investigate the situation in cooperation with governing authorities.

That investigation is largely concluded now, and the Columbia Union Executive Committee—the Columbia Union’s governing board—has formed a subcommittee that will conduct a thorough review of the situation. The findings of the subcommittee will be presented to the full board when its work is completed.

We thank Kettering Health for bringing in the outside expertise needed to fully examine this situation and remain completely supportive of the vital role Kettering Health plays in the health ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

We continue to be dedicated to ensuring that the Columbia Union and our entities carefully use funds in a fiscally responsible way, with a focus on furthering the mission.

We will share additional updates as we are able and, in the meantime, appreciate your prayers.
