Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation Raises $90,000 for New Hospital

By Megan McKinley

The Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation held its ninth annual golf benefit, with proceeds going toward the hospital’s Cardiac and Vascular Services. The benefit was held at the Lake Presidential Golf Club in Upper Marlboro, Md., a public access course ranked second in Maryland by Golfweek in March.

The participants of the benefit helped raise nearly $90,000 through playing, sponsorship opportunities, and buying ad space in the program book. Players included hospital physicians, employees, and business partners. The proceeds will assist in purchasing new equipment that will transition from the hospital’s current campus to its new site.

The benefit’s 104 golfers were treated to 18 challenging holes of golf, followed by an awards luncheon where foursomes with the best scores received gift certificates to the Lake Presidential Pro Shop. Prizes for individual efforts were also awarded, and there were more than three dozen door prizes.

To find out how you can be a part of next year’s 10th annual golf benefit, please call Megan McKinley, manager of Annual Giving and Special Events, at (301) 891-6924.
