Lawndale Church Purchases New Building
Lawndale Church Purchases New Building
Tamyra Horst, Pennsylvania Conference Communication Director
The Lawndale Hispanic church had a good problem, one that members needed to solve quickly: They outgrew their space. Their church facility was packed every Sabbath morning. Not wanting to host two church services, Pastor Saud Elias and his team began looking for a new facility.
With a loan from the Columbia Union Revolving Fund and the assistance of Pennsylvania Conference administrators and willing volunteers, Lawndale members purchased a new facility in northeast Philadelphia this fall. Pastor Elias held their first evangelistic series in the church shortly after moving into the facility. More than 25 people are already worshipping with the growing congregation.
“The Lord guided us step by step in the purchase of this new church, even during these difficult economic times,” says Pastor Elias. He welcomes any visitors to stop by the new building located at 7114 Oxford Avenue in Philadelphia.
