Third Annual New Jersey Conference Prayer Conference Encourages Attendees

“Many, even in their seasons of devotion, fail on receiving the blessing of real communion with God. They are in too great a haste” (Ellen White, Education, p. 260).

Guest speaker Peter Neri, a retired pastor, presented this quote as part of a larger passage, giving attendees at the third annual prayer convention 20 minutes to read and meditate on it before opening a group discussion about what God was communicating through the text.

The prayer convention, held at Tranquility Camp, functions as a mini spiritual retreat designed to deepen attendees’ relationship with God. This year’s theme spoke to a discipline that many church members tend to neglect: “Spending Quality Time With God.”
