Clifton Christian Academy Celebrates 100 Years

Story by Ohio Conference Staff

In 1925, Ohio Conference’s First Church of Seventh-day Adventists in Cincinnati established a school on William Howard Taft Road. Many years later, the school became known as Cincinnati Junior Academy and, in 1969, relocated to its current Clifton Avenue campus, continuing its mission under the name Clifton Christian Academy (CCA).

“For 100 years, our school has been dedicated to academic excellence, faith-based learning and the development of servant leaders. Our mission extends beyond our faith community to serve the community at large,” says Mike Ellis, board chair of the school.

CCA continues to be sponsored by the Clifton church (formerly the First Church) and the Ohio Conference.

“Our board, faculty and staff are deeply committed to guiding every student toward a personal and transformative relationship with Jesus Christ, while teaching the core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, and compassion.”

Ellis adds, “Over the years, we have joyfully celebrated the diversity of our community as seen in our lively student body. At the core of CCA is our mission as a spiritual community, where we actively nurture each student's growing relationship with Christ and their awareness of the abundant blessings that come from a life surrendered to Him.”

Help Them Celebrate

On April 24–26, 2026, CCA will host its Centennial Celebration, honoring the contributions of principals, teachers, students, staff, board members, and the school community.

Bob Cundiff, Ohio Conference president, will serve as the keynote speaker, and Kojo Twumasi, Ohio Conference Evangelism director, will deliver the Friday night vespers message. CAA warmly invites everyone to join them in celebrating this historic milestone.

Vespers will start at 7 p.m. The church service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Both events will take place at the church: 3800 Clifton Ave, Cincinnati.
