Adventist HealthCare's Vision 2030

Adventist HealthCare Sets Forth New Vision While Sharing Its Multi-Year Strategic Plan

Story by Adventist HealthCare Staff

Adventist HealthCare has released its 2025-2030 strategic plan and a new vision statement, opening the next chapter in the system’s 117-year history of providing comprehensive health and wellness services in the Washington, D.C., region.

The new vision states: "We will be the trusted choice for exceptional care in every community we serve." The update rallies Adventist HealthCare’s team members around initiatives focused on quality, improving health outcomes and an increasingly pleasing and convenient care experience. The vision also affirms the system’s long-term commitment to its mission: to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Also, Adventist HealthCare has outlined goals for more comprehensive, integrated and coordinated care in a six-year strategic plan titled Vision 2030. The plan creates a structured roadmap for team members at the health system’s more than 60 locations in Maryland and D.C.

"At Adventist HealthCare, our mission has always been the foundation of who we are and what we do," said John Sackett, President and CEO. "Vision 2030 builds on that mission with a bold strategy to strengthen our commitment to the communities we serve and to achieve new levels of excellence through compassionate care and innovation."

Vision 2030 defines objectives for each department and measures of success supporting six goals:

  1. Expanding Our Mission – Increasing access to care and addressing health inequities through partnerships.
  2. Being the Best Place to Work and Grow – Empowering team members and creating an environment that fosters collaboration and professional growth.
  3. Providing Consistent and Exceptional Quality of Care – Aligning with High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles in every care setting.
  4. Ensuring a Compassionate and Frictionless Patient Journey – Redefining the healthcare experience to be seamless, empathetic and personalized.
  5. Achieving Impactful Financial Performance – Strengthening our organization’s ability to reinvest in and enhance its mission.
  6. Pursuing Breakthrough Innovation – Embracing new technologies, partnerships and processes to transform healthcare delivery.

"Vision 2030 is not just a plan—it’s a promise," Sackett added. "A promise to our patients, team members, and partners that we will provide increasingly exceptional care, foster even healthier communities, and always lead with integrity."
