New Jersey Conference Hosts Master Guide Camporee

New Jersey Conference's Master Guide Camporee, held from Sept. 6-8, was a resounding success, say leaders, bringing together 250 participants from diverse cultural backgrounds. The event, hosted at Tranquility Camp in New Jersey, showcased the growth and enthusiasm within the Master Guide community under the inspiring theme, “Race to Victory.”

This year’s camporee saw a significant increase in participation, with 17 clubs joining, up from the seven that attended last year. The diversity was evident, with at least eight cultural groups represented, including Filipino, Haitian, Kenyan, African American, Hispanic, Black Caribbean, Brazilian, Caribbean Spanish and Caucasian, enriching the experience for all attendees.

One highlight was the worship service that was held at the end of a night hike. Participants showcased their songwriting talents by composing songs about the camporee’s theme. This creative and spiritual activity brought a unique and heartfelt dimension to the event.

The camporee also marked a milestone for 11 Master Guide candidates, who were officially invested as Master Guides, symbolizing their dedication and hard work.

The Master Guide Bible Experience was another key feature, with 28 teams demonstrating their in-depth knowledge of the books of Romans and 1 and 2 Corinthians. Despite a torrential downpour during this activity, everyone remained safe indoors. The rainstorm concluded with a breathtaking double rainbow over the campsite, mirroring the double rainbow seen at the International Camporee in Gillette, Wyo., last month. This beautiful sight reminded everyone of God’s promises and added a touch of wonder to the event.

Sunday was dedicated to various sport activities, including soccer, basketball, gaga ball and volleyball, providing a fun and energetic conclusion to the camporee.

The 2024 Master Guide Camporee was a memorable event, celebrating unity, achievement and the vibrant diversity within the Master Guide community, all while embodying the spirit of the “Race to Victory," say conference Pathfinder leaders.
