Hispanic Ministries Caravan: One Week, 195 Souls

Story by Debra C. Anderson

A spirit of unity and purpose recently swept across the Potomac Conference as the Hispanic Caravan of Evangelism resulted in 195 baptisms. Each baptism marked more than a number but a personal decision to follow Jesus.

Throughout the week, churches across the conference in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., hosted simultaneous evangelistic meetings, as pastors from Honduras joined local congregations to share a message of hope centered on the theme, “Restored by Grace.”

Adding to the momentum, a traveling caravan, led by Melchor Ferreyra, retired Personal Ministries director for the Inter-American Division, visited several locations during the week, reinforcing local efforts and deepening the spiritual impact.

Reflecting on the experience, Rafael Soto, conference vice president for Hispanic Ministries, praised God for the visible movement of the Holy Spirit: “This effort stands as a testimony of what God can do when His people come together with a shared purpose and a willingness to follow His leading.”

The Hispanic Caravan of Evangelism leaders not only welcomed new believers but also reflected a renewed commitment to mission across the conference, an expression of what it means to move beyond the walls and carry the message of grace into every community.
