God is Moving Across Pennsylvania
Editorial by Gary Gibbs
The Pennsylvania Conference recently witnessed God move among His people in remarkable ways. In September, churches across Pennsylvania opened their doors for our grand reunions, welcoming back former members, friends, and neighbors.
To support this outreach, we launched a statewide media campaign in late September—reaching across social media, billboards, radio and television. At the same time, over one million handbills were delivered to homes throughout Pennsylvania—we truly are committed to reaching everyone, everywhere!
A season of evangelism, unlike anything we have experienced in recent years, followed. This past fall, 111 evangelistic events were held as part of the North American Division’s Pentecost 2025 initiative. More than 1,200 guests attended meetings across our state. In total, 149 evangelistic meetings took place, and 700 new members were anticipated to join God’s family through baptism or profession of faith by the end of 2025.
And yet, I believe we are only seeing the beginning of what God desires to do.
As we enter 2026, our focus is on discipleship and continued evangelism. We want every new believer to find a spiritual family where they are welcomed, nurtured and equipped to serve. We want every church to be a place where people fall in love with Jesus, rediscover the blessing of the Sabbath and grow “fit for life” physically, mentally and spiritually.
I invite you to continue praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit—and ask Him to bring one person into your life with whom you can study this year. God will continue to move powerfully.
“The presence of the Spirit with God’s workers will give the proclamation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the world could give” (Ellen G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 51).
