Washington Adventist University to Host Pentecost 2025 Tent Meeting with Ramone Griffith

Story by Simonique Dietz

Washington Adventist University (WAU) will host its first Pentecost Tent Meeting from April 13–19, 2025, featuring Dr. Ramone W. Griffith, Youth Director of the Allegheny East Conference, as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Griffith, a Brooklyn, New York native, is the eldest son of Wendell and Marcia Griffith and was raised with the rich cultural heritage of his parents’ home island of Barbados. A passionate minister and dynamic speaker, Griffith is known for his commitment to building people for the glory of God.

His educational journey is deeply tied to Washington Adventist University, where he earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theology (Pastoral Ministry) and Music (Vocal Emphasis), as well as a Master of Arts degree in Religion with a focus on Metropolitan Ministry. Most recently, he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, D.C.

Throughout his ministry, Griffith has traveled globally, singing, teaching, and proclaiming the name of Jesus. Inspired by Luke 1:17, he seeks to “make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”

Dr. Griffith is married to Dr. Cavena Griffith, an elementary school administrator in Gaithersburg, Md. The couple enjoys walking around the Washington monuments, attending sporting events, and engaging in competitive Monopoly matches.

A devoted New York Yankees fan, Griffith also enjoys history, tennis, and cooking. As he prepares to lead WAU’s Tent Meeting, he remains excited to “watch God work.”

The Pentecost 2025 Tent Meeting will take place on the WAU campus, welcoming students, alumni, and community members for a week of spiritual revival and fellowship.
