Potomac Conference to Relocate Administrative Offices to Silver Spring

Story by Potomac Conference Staff

The Potomac Conference Executive Committee voted to relocate its administrative office from Staunton, Virginia, to Silver Spring, Maryland, following the Administrative Committee’s recommendation. This decision marked the end of decades of debate and previous unsuccessful efforts to move the office.

The administrative office has been in Staunton since 1955, when it moved from Takoma Park, Maryland. The new location in Silver Spring places the conference closer to more than 80% of its constituents, improving accessibility and service. It will also feature a dedicated ministry center designed to foster innovation, outreach, and expanded initiatives. Leaders believe the move strengthens the conference’s mission to “Move Beyond the Walls” by better addressing a growing faith community's spiritual and practical needs.

Despite the relocation, the administration reaffirmed its commitment to the southern region, pledging continued support and investment in its churches, schools, and ministries. More information will follow as things develop.
