More than 5,000 listeners and mall shoppers recently joined WGTS 91.9 on the “2019 Ice Cream Tour” as they took over the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center. Part of the WGTS' "91 Days of Summer," the celebration included a free concert with Provident Label Group’s Tauren Wells. The day included Johnny and Stacey Stone broadcasting their afternoon show live from the event, along with games scattered across the lawn and prizes galore.

“We love being part of the Summer Concert Series on the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center. And the best part is that we get to meet our listeners,” says Morning Show Host/Promotions Director Jerry Woods. “Between the games, the free ice cream, the concert and the broadcast there was something for everyone to enjoy.”

Afternoon show host Johnny Stone adds, “Seeing all of those families playing on the lawn and then singing along to Tauren’s songs always puts a smile on my face.”

The WGTS 91.9 Ice Cream Tour started as a weeklong event in 2014 and has served tens of thousands of servings of ice cream on Fridays in the months of June and July. The Ice Cream Tour will end with another concert on the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center with former American Idol finalist Danny Gokey on July 26, 2019.
