A groundbreaking ceremony for the new $9.7 million Gail S. and Bruce E. Boyer Health Professions and Wellness Center took place on Friday, May 20 on the Washington Adventist University campus in Takoma Park, Md. The project is an addition/renovation of the current Health Professions building, and it is named after Gail and Bruce Boyer (pictured with their family), major benefactors for the center.

When completed in the fall of 2017, the 20,794-square-foot Health Professions and Wellness Center will accommodate Washington Adventist University’s health professions and science programs, along with community health programs and activities. The building will also provide opportunities for the university to partner with the city and county in offering wellness activities.
