Susan G. Hornshaw, PhD, was recently named provost at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Md. Hornshaw is a graduate of the University of Manitoba in Canada where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology. In 1982 she received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Toronto.

Takoma Park, MD — The Trustees of Washington Adventist University (WAU) today voted a Memorandum of Understanding with Atlantic Union College (AUC). This MOU calls for the two institutions to work toward an agreement to establish a branch campus of Washington Adventist University at Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts. WAU would lease the facilities of AUC, and become the sole provider of higher education at the New England location. All provisions are dependent upon approval from the required accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Two members of churches in the Columbia Union Conference, who are also Washington Adventist University alumni, were recently named directors at the North American Division. 

This week, the Ohio Conference convened the sixth annual National Conference on Innovation.

Willie Oliver, PhD, was elected director of Family Ministries for the world church. 

Leaders from across the Columbia Union gathered last week for second quarter meetings called “midyear meetings.” 

Last weekend Washington Adventist Universitycelebrated its first graduation as a university by conferring 166 degrees. 

More than 425 members from Potomac Conference’s Sligo church and students from Washington Adventist University (WAU), Sligo Adventist School, and John Nevins Andrews School, all in Takoma Park, Md., participated in the annual Walk for the Homeless.

John Konrad, general manager and vice president of WGTS 91.9 FM, the Christian radio station owned by Washington Adventist University (WAU) in Takoma Park, Md., was honored recently for his efforts to use the station to minister to the Washington, D.C., community and beyond.
